Asian Foundation of Education & Research Pvt. Ltd. (AFER) is an educational institution established in 2005. Later, in 2021, the name was changed to Asian College for Advance Studies Pvt. Ltd. The college is authorized by the Nepal Ministry of Education and the Nepal Medical Education Commission (MEC), is affiliated with Purbanchal University, Nepal, and is accredited by the Nepal Health Professional Council (NHPC), Nepal Nursing Council (NNC), and Nepal Pharmacy Council (NPC). It has started 4 Bachelor level academic programs: Bachelor of Public Health (BPH), Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharmacy), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), and Post Basic Bachelor of Nursing Science (PBNS). Since then, the institution has graduated 419 PBNS, 234 BSN, 365 BPH, and 306 B. Pharmacy students, and approximately 520 students each year are studying in bachelor’s programs in health sciences. The Master of Public Health (MPH) program at Purbanchal University has just been approved and progress is being made toward approval of the Master of Pharmacy (M. Pharmacy) program.
Additionally, all programmes affiliated with the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT), such as the Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology (CMLT), which has been offered since 2008, the Diploma in Pharmacy, which has been offered since 2016, and the Diagnostic Radiography program, which has been offered since 2018, were transferred to our sister organization Shankarapur Academy Pvt. Ltd. in October 2022 as a result of Nepal government regulations (Nepal Medical Education Commission Act).
